Kent Norsworthy is in his ninth season at the helm of the University of North Georgia men's and women's tennis programs.

Norsworthy coached the Saints to a 14-7 regular season record in 2012 which is the best since moving to the NCAA Division II level. The Saints also earned their first-ever birth into the National Tournament ending the season with a national-ranking of No. 26 that includes boasting the 43rd-ranked player in the country, Felipe Friedrich, on the roster. In 2013, Friedrich was named ITA All-American, the first in UNG history.

Norsworthy graduated from North Georgia in 2001, where he competed on the Saints' men's tennis team all four years. He was named to the All-Conference team for the GACC in 1998 and won the Conference Tournament Championship during the 1998 season, earning a spot in the 1998 NAIA National Tournament.

A native of Smyrna, Georgia, Norsworthy graduated from Mount Vernon Christian Academy and was a four-sport letterwinner in tennis, basketball, soccer and baseball. During his career, he was ranked in the top-20 in the state of Georgia for the 18-and under age division, and was also listed in the top 60 in the Southern rankings.

Since graduation in 2001, Norsworthy has been teaching tennis professionally in Alpharetta and Duluth to all ages and abilities. He achieved certification by the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) in 2001.

He also served on the NCAA Division II regional awards committee for the in 2011 and 2012.
